This Ends Here

This Ends Here is built to be a fast-playing two-person game of settling a grudge at the end of a long journey. Maybe that journey started with someone killing a puppy, maybe that journey started with a village being burned to the ground. However, by this point in the story, no matter what other reasons the for this confrontation, this will be personal.

One player takes the role of The Wrath, an individual or team looking to finish things permanently. The other player takes on the role of The Narrator, helping The Wrath set the scene and pace as they carve a path of revenge through the world they both create. As The Wrath pushes through the final lines of defense surrounding their target, with each die roll they'll be confronting what they had stolen from them and what they sacrificed to get here before finally putting an end to it all.

In the final phase, the players build an epilogue to the furious tale of revenge they just ended.

This is an ashcan edition in markdown format with additional material forthcoming in the form of (at least) three Grudges, focused material to jumpstart a game into a setting or situation that feels familiar, as well as supplemental material with suggestions on how to frame the gameplay as social manipulation or political maneuvering and how to frame The Wrath as a team instead of an individual.
